Verneice M. Scott, 78, of Pawnee City, passed away Saturday morning, January 3, 2026, at Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn. She was born February 16, 1947, in Beatrice to Vernon and Berneice (Chaloupka) Overbeck. On September 5, 1970, she was united in marriage to Gordon L. Scott. Verneice worked for Campbell Soup in Tecumseh for 22 years, retiring in 1986. Following her retirement, she pursued her passion for floral design, creating arrangements in Pawnee City, Beatrice, and Seneca, KS, before eventually operating privately from her home. Verneice enjoyed sewing and crocheting and had a special love for painted horses, which she also bred.
Survivors include her close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, who died on May 24,1989; son, Roy F. Scott; parents, Vernon and Berneice Overbeck; grandparents, Frank and Berneice Chaloupka; fiancé, Emmett J. Kramer.
