Luzetta Melton, age 82, of Hazard, KY, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center. Luzetta was a Old Regular Baptist Church member. She was a devoted family woman who cherished time spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed hobbies such as reading her bible, word search puzzles and working in her flower garden. She treasured the moments she spent on the girl's day out trips.
She was the daughter of the late Lew Collins and the late Mary Lee Gibson Collins. She is also preceded in death by her Husband: Lawrence Melton and Five Sisters: Myrtle Stamper, Fern Campbell, Carolyn Stacy, Ruby Sampsell & Laura Morris.
She leaves surviving Three Daughters: Mary Elizabeth Combs, Brownsfork, KY, Darlene Neace (Doug), Knott County, KY & Diane Fugate (Ricky), Brownsfork, KY; One Son: Daniel Melton, Brownsfork, KY; One Brother: Jack Collins, Krypton, KY; Two Half Brothers: Glenn Collins, Hazard, KY & Ervin Collins, Stanton, KY; Three Grandchildren: Jeanette Brown, Joshua Fugate & Tamara Blackburn; Four Great Grandchildren: Skyler, Riley, Gabriel & Elijah and A Host of Nieces, Nephews, Family & Friends
Arrangements are being handled by Maggard's Mtn, View Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Funeral service will be at Maggard's Mtn. View Chapel at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 8, 2026, Ricky Smith officiating. Interment will be at Melton Cemetery, Brownsfork, KY
