Constance Pepe Obituary
Constance Mary (Gaeta) Pepe, 88, of Pearl River, NY, passed away peacefully at her home on January 3, 2026.
Constance is survived by her loving and devoted children, Christine Gaudio (wife to Joe Gaudio) of Califon, NJ, Mark Pepe (husband to Lisa Pepe) of Blauvelt, NY, Matthew Pepe (husband to Kathryn Pepe) of Holbrook, MA and Andrew Pepe (husband to Brenda Pepe) of Naples, FL. Also, her cherished grandchildren: Matthew Gaudio (husband to Jori Gaudio), Christopher Gaudio (husband to Julia Gaudio), Vincent Pepe, Samantha Pepe, Julia Pepe, Noah Pepe, Emma Pepe, Caroline Pepe and Elizabeth Pepe, as well as her beloved great grandchildren: Paolo Gaudio, Luca Gaudio and Nico Gaudio. She is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth Gaeta.
She was predeceased by her sister, Jean (Gaeta) Fitzgerald.
Constance was born in Nyack, NY on 11/5/37 to Constance and Joseph Gaeta. She graduated Nyack High School (1955) before attending and graduating from Becker Junior College. She worked various jobs before starting her career as an Office Manager at Orangetown Orthopedics, where she worked for 22 years until retiring in 2000.
Constance was an avid traveler, vacationing throughout the world, including stops in Australia, Europe, Egypt, Alaska and the Caribbean. She would often adventure with her “September Club” group, revered friends and family that traveled annually to favorite vacation hot spots. Constance was also an amazing cook, remarking that “If you don’t like garlic, you should not enter my house.” She had a tremendous repertoire of recipes, from elaborate holiday meals to old age Italian simple plates, passed down from previous generations. She was quick to share her dishes with all, including neighbors and anyone that lent a hand. Constance liked gardening and spent many hours in her backyard tending her flowers and growing vegetables.
Constance will be well remembered for her incredible devotion to her children and grandchildren, instilling a tremendous sense of family values, and enjoyed many happy moments spending time with all of them. She will be genuinely missed by all that knew her.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, Jan 7th, 2026 at Hannemann Funeral Home in Nyack, NY, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Services will be on Thursday, Jan 8th at St. Ann’s Church in Nyack, with Mass at 1:00 pm.
