Patricia Lou Mudd Gribbins, age 79, of Lebanon, KY passed away Saturday, January 3, 2026 at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville.
A native of Washington County, she was born on March 16, 1946 to the late Richard Cosmos “R.C.” and Agnes Shanahan Mudd.
Growing up the family attended St. Rose Catholic Church and while living in Marion County she attended the Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church at Calvary. She was a graduate of St. Catharine Academy and St. Catharine College. She was a retired employee of the Marion County Detention Center in Lebanon.
Being raised and living on a farm she understood the value of hard work and enjoyed gardening. She was an avid volunteer serving in the community and participated in “Wreaths Around America” with the National Cemeteries. Most of all she lived her life dedicated to her family and friends.
Preceding her in death was her husband, David Earl Gribbins on November 16, 2014; five grandchildren, Emma Rose Roeder, Raelyn Gribbins, Addilyn Gribbins, Elena Medley and Skylar Medley; three sisters, Mary Ann Ford, Sr. Nora Rita Mudd and Bernadette Smith and three brothers, Richard C. “Dicky” Mudd, Jr., Charles Lee “Charlie” Mudd and Thomas Michael “Mike” Mudd.
Survivors include her children, Tommy Carey (Nancy) of Lebanon, Troy Carey (Wendy) of Midway, GA, Robin Carey-Barney (Craig) of Louisville, Dana Gribbins (Charlie), Robert Gribbins (Shelly) and Myer Alan Gribbins of Lebanon, Teddy Gribbins (Brandy) of Georgia and Carrie Gribbins (Fran) of Campbellsville; grandchildren, Dylan Medley (Ria), Wyatt Medley (Cara), Tristan Medley (Sandra), Mitchell, Chandler and Landon Carey, Emily Yates (Tanner), Tanner Roeder, Dakota Gribbins, Addison Gribbins, Nathaniel Gribbins (Ka’i), Callie, Jalen, Gabriel, Rianna, Ben, Jackson, Noah, Jonathan Gribbins, Logan Thompson, Emma and Kayleigh Gribbins and great grandchildren, Daisy and Otto Yates, Malia and Maizie Medley and Rosemae Goana.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 Thursday, January 8th at the St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Pier Giorgio Dengler, O.P., officiating.
Burial will be in the Old Liberty Cemetery at Bradfordsville.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dylan, Wyatt and Tristan Medley, Mitchell, Chandler and Landon Carey, Tanner Roeder, Dakota, Nathaniel, Jalen, Gabriel, Ben, Jackson and Noah Gribbins.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Wednesday and after 8:00 Thursday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 Wednesday evening at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
There will be a luncheon, following the graveside service, at the Civic Center in Bradfordsville.
