It is with profound sadness that our family announces that Norma passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the age of 87 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by daughters, Brenda (Guy) Tallman and Leslie (Michael) Griffin and son Murray (Kumi) Toews; grandchildren, David (Kam), John, Will, Emma (Noah), Laura, Sean, Ryan, Sarah, Matthew and Kaye; her sister Doreen Kowbel and brother John (Lynn) Sinclair; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many cherished friends.
Norma was predeceased by Cornelius, her loving husband of 58 years; her parents Norman and Joy Sinclair; brother-in-law Johnny Kowbel; Corny’s sisters Irma (Frank) Gerbrandt and Margie (Beno) Enns; as well as infant son Jeffrey.
Norma was born in Harris, SK and moved to Saskatoon as a young child. While attending Bedford Road Collegiate she met Cornelius, the love of her life, her soulmate and best friend. They were married in 1958. Norma worked as a Lab Tech while Cornelius completed Law School after which their young family moved to Regina. Norma’s life from then on was devoted to raising her family, which she did with so much love and care.
Norma enjoyed sewing, baking, needlework, playing bridge with her friends and hosting wonderful dinner parties. Norma and Cornelius enjoyed extensive travelling and in their later years their winter home in Mexico where they made many special friends. In recent years, Norma suffered from dementia and moved to the memory care home at Green Falls Landing.
Norma was a dear and devoted Mom and proud Grandma. She supported and encouraged her grandchildren in all their endeavors. Norma loved her family more than anything and she was always supportive and understanding. We are so fortunate to have had her in our lives, and she will be missed beyond words. The family wishes to thank Shantelle and the staff at Green Falls Landing and the doctors and nurses in the MSU at the Pasqua Hospital for their care and compassion during Norma’s final days.
Donations in memory of Norma may be made to Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan. 301-2550 12th Ave. Regina, SK, S4P 3X1 or a charity of your choice. A Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
A livestream link will be available the day of the service.
