Lin M. Amaker Obituary

Lin Maurice Amaker, 51, was born November 11, 1974, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, the beloved son of Lin and Carolyn Johnson Amaker. He transitioned from this earthly life on Saturday, January 3, 2026, after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer at PRISMA Heath Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.

Lin attended Felton Laboratory School from kindergarten through 8th grade before graduating from Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School in 1993. He attended South Carolina State University for two years before building a successful career in food services, dedicating many years to Prisma Health through Compass Group, where he was known for his reliability and warm spirit.

In 2015, Lin married the love of his life, Davina Smith, and together they created a beautiful life in Columbia, SC. Lin's greatest joy was being a devoted father to his 10-year-old son, Micah.

A true enthusiast at heart, Lin had an infectious passion for Marvel Comics, video games, and the San Francisco 49ers. He followed Michael Jordan's legendary career with unwavering dedication and could talk for hours about his favorite comic characters or the latest gaming strategies. Whether cheering on his beloved 49ers or introducing someone to a new Marvel storyline, Lin's enthusiasm was contagious. Though he is no longer physically with us, he has left a legacy of love to all those whose lives he so lovingly touched.

Lin is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Davina; son, Micah; loving parents, Lin and Carolyn Amaker; sisters, Gerri Garrett, LaWanda Toney, and Letricia "Sherrie" Amaker; his mother-in-law, Ethel Smith; his father-in-law, David Smith Sr.;  sister-in-law Rissa (Cecilio) Davis; brothers-in-law, Franklin Garrett and Dyon Toney; a host of nieces and nephews, and cousins, all of whom will forever treasure his memory.
