Carol Jean Rodin, 77, of St. Paris, Ohio passed away on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026, in Northwood Skilled Rehabilitation Nursing Home, Springfield, Ohio.

Carol was born on January 30th, 1948, in Schenectady, New York to the late Milton and Mabel (Turnbull) Slieth.

Following her graduation from high school and return from college, Carol would go on to pursue a lifelong career in education and begin helping shape the young minds of Champaign County, eventually retiring from Mechanicsburg School District as a 6th Grade math teacher.

In her free time, Carol was a devoted member of the St. Paris United Methodist Church, where she was church treasurer for many years. She was also a lifelong member and supporter of the St. Paris Historical Pony Wagon Museum Board, as well as the Antique Study Club. Always known for having an artistic flair and creative side to her, Carol would also go on to eventually open her own crafts store in St. Paris for a time.

Carol is survived by many of her lifelong friends in the St. Paris and Champaign County communities and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, February  1st, 2026, in the St. Paris United Methodist Church (208 W Walnut St, St. Paris, OH 43072) with Pastor Abigail Adams officiating.

Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, St. Paris, Ohio.
