Roger Jr. was born in Rockingham County on January 7, 1986, to Roger and Tina Brim. As a special needs child, our beloved Roger filled every room with an unparalleled warmth and a contagious, joyful laugh. Though he faced many challenges, his kind and pure spirit was a constant, gentle light in the lives of all who knew him.
Though he could not speak, Roger communicated with an understanding that transcended words. He had a mind for detail, finding patterns and order in his own way, in a world that can often seem chaotic. Roger taught us that life’s true measure is not in grand achievements, but in simple, everyday moments of pure happiness. He found joy in the color of a flower, the sound of music, and the touch of a hand, and in doing so, he taught us all to slow down and appreciate the world in a profound way. Roger’s love was pure, unconditional, and freely given. He knew no judgment and held no grudges, offering a simple lesson in what it means to love without reservation. His gentle way of connecting with people brought out the best in us. We will miss his sweet smile, his gentle hugs, and the comfort of his simple affection.
Roger’s life was enriched by his loving and dedicated caregiver and grandmother, Ravernell Crouch, who was waiting for him in Heaven. More than anything else, she loved caring for her special needs grandson for the past 39 years and gave him the best life possible. She never left his side until the very end when her own debilitating health prevailed. They are reunited again in Heaven!
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Ravernell and Ronnie Crouch, and paternal grandparents William and Cleo Brim.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents Roger and Tina Brim; sisters, Jessica Brim Anderson and Wendy Brim Hawkins; uncles, Danny Crouch, Rocky Crouch, and Joey Crouch (Sheila) ; along with his cousins and other extended family.
Special thanks to Chance Franks for his care and support for Roger these past months.
