Virginia Ann Schaal, born on April 28, 1958, in Wheeling, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, at WVU Medicine - Wheeling Hospital. She was 67 years old.


Virginia dedicated her life to the care and well-being of others as a compassionate and diligent nurses' aide for many years. Her patients were like family to her, and she provided unwavering support and kindness, earning great respect and affection from both her peers and those she cared for.


An ardent animal lover, Virginia cherished her dogs and cats, who were her constant companions throughout her life. She found joy in cooking for her family and friends, further demonstrating her nurturing spirit. Her warmth and willingness to help those in need were evident to all who knew her.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Nancy (Craig) Schaal; her significant other, Thomas Rumora; her brother, Fred Schaal; and her nephew, Chuck "Bub" Anastasia.


Virginia leaves behind a loving family: her sisters, Debra Schaal (George Hess) and Karen (Russell) Beverage; her nieces, Crystal Schaal (Ejiah Summers), Alicia Anastasia, Christina Welshans, and Patty (Heath) Lohr; along with many treasured great-nieces and nephews.


In accordance with Virginia's wishes, there will be no public services. Condolences and cherished memories may be shared with her family at www.carechapel.com.
