Matthew Vender

May 9, 1997 – December 29, 2025

Matthew Vender, beloved son, brother, and friend, was born on May 9, 1997, to David and Suzanne Vender in Voorhees, New Jersey.

From the very beginning, Matt was a true bundle of joy. Trained by his father to swim when he was only months old, he quickly became a “water baby,” full of life, curiosity, and happiness.

Anyone who met Matt fell in love with him immediately. He carried a rare warmth and magnetic energy, radiating kindness to everyone around him. As a toddler, he would sit in the grocery cart greeting every passerby with a cheerful hello. At restaurants, he happily wandered over to nearby tables to introduce himself—and often to share his fries. Matt never met a stranger, only friends he hadn’t yet known.

Matt grew into a truly remarkable young man—kind, gentle, vibrant, and full of life. He attended Temple University, where he studied journalism, proudly working as a sports writer and broadcaster and serving as a member of Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity. Wherever he went, his smile lit up the room, and his easygoing humor made everyone feel instantly at ease.

Matt was a devoted and loving big brother to Ben. Together, they shared a deep love of Philadelphia sports, spending countless hours attending Eagles and Sixers games and enthusiastically taking in all of the city’s sports greatness.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Matt built a promising career in real estate, working as a Leasing Director specializing in retail leasing for Perform Properties. As in every aspect of his life, he was deeply respected and genuinely loved by his coworkers, managers, and many throughout the industry. He was thriving professionally, with a bright future unfolding before him.

At the time of his passing, Matt was planning a move to Chicago to be closer to his family. Our hearts are shattered knowing we will never get to celebrate the life he was building—the milestones ahead, his marriage, or the children he may have had. The magnitude of this loss is beyond words.

There are no words for this kind of grief. Matt will forever be held close in our hearts, and we surround his father David, his brother Benjamin, and his family with all the love we have during this unimaginable time.

Matthew’s smile, warmth, and legacy of love will live on through his family, his friends, and all who were blessed to know him.

Graveside services will be held Sunday January 4, 2026 at 11:30 am at the Beth Kehillah Cemetery in Egg Harbor Township.

In lieu of flowers and food, the family asks that contributions in Matthew's memory may be made to the Chabad Building Fund or Standing Together.
