Josie Martinez, 63, of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2025. She was born on March 19, 1962, to Eloy and Matilda (Villarreal) Rios, in Lubbock, Texas. Josie loved to listen to music and dance. She was at her happiest spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. Josie will be remembered for her kindness and strength; she will be missed by all that knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Betsy Baca, Belinda Martinez and husband George, Sylvia Martinez, Guero Frank Martinez, Jr and wife Marisa, Connie Martinez and husband Jacob Gonzales and Baby Joe Martinez and wife Teresa Lopez; longtime partner, Steve Reyna; father of her children and good friend, Frank Martinez, Sr.; siblings, Johnny Rios, Dora Rios, Frances Rios, and Irene Rios Ursua, several grandchildren and great grandchildren and several extended family members.

Josie was preceded in death by her parents, Eloy and Matilda Rios, two brothers, two sisters and one uncle.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with Funeral services to begin at 1:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel, 1928 34th street, Lubbock, Texas 79411. Cremation services are under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home.

A Reception will be held following the services from 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at Carbajal Event Center, 1809 N. Ash Ave, Lubbock, Tx 79403.
