Helga Kruckenhauser Parr, 86, of Fowl River, Alabama, passed away

peacefully on November 12, 2025. Born in St Johann im Pongau, Salzburg,

Austria, on April 29, 1939, to Albert and Magaretha Kruckenhauser, she

worked in Austria, England, Canada and Germany before settling down with

her husband in Alabama. She retired from Regions Bank as Vice President of

the International Department after 36 years.

Preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by her husband of 59 years,

James Richard “Dick” Parr, her 2 sons, James Patrick Parr (Anne) of Mobile

and Richard Aaron Parr (Julie) of Raleigh, North Carolina, 3 grandchildren,

Sydney Grace Parr, Jack Cannon Parr and Andrew Obanion Parr, her sister,

Gertrude “Trude” Kruckenhauser of Austria and her last dog rescue, Roxy.

Helga, affectionately called Oma, enjoyed the symphony, working in her yard

every day, swimming when the weather allowed, snow skiing and looking after

her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whom everyone

could, and did, depend on and was loved by everyone that met her.

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to Lynwood Nursing Home and

Community Hospice, especially her Hospice Nurse Sandy, for taking care of

her in her time of need. The loving care given was obvious and felt by all

members of the family.

In lieu of flowers, Helga would have wanted donations made to any SPCA or

Humane Society.

The family will have a private memorial at a later date.
