Diane Trudy Snelgrove Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Diane Trudy Snelgrove, age 64, announce her passing at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, NS, with her loving husband Gord by her side on November 12, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Diane will be deeply missed and forever loved by her husband Gord; daughter Kaila Harnum; step daughters, Stephanie & Crystal Snelgrove; Brother Jerry (Madge) of Loon Bay; Uncle Maynard Dinn (Brenda), Grand Falls Windsor; Niece Rae-Ann Penton, and Nephew Ryan Dinn (Matt Fox); Close Cousins Kent Abbott, Karen Peardon (Ivan Pope), and Robin Dinn(Denise), along with many very close friends and extended family.

Diane is predeceased by her parents, Ray & Vera Dinn, mother-in-law Marjorie Snelgrove and other family members; Cherry Dinn, Sharon Poole, Ross & Audrey Abbott, Lori Fleming.

Diane was born on April 13, 1961, to her parents, Raymond & Vera Dinn of Grand Falls Windsor. She spent her childhood in Grand Falls-Windsor with a love for animals, especially dogs and horses. Diane also enjoyed many years at the family cabin in Loon Bay, which included day and sometimes longer trips on the Sylvia Joyce, fishing, sailing and relaxing with family and friends.

Diane lived in Central until she moved to the Avalon in 1985. This is where Diane met the love of her life, Gord. Diane and Gord were married on April 5, 2008. They resided in Mount Pearl along with Dianes’ daughter, Kailia Harnum, and enjoyed spending their summers at their trailer in Crowhill RV Park in Brigus, with many a campground group meal and spending most nights around a fire chatting with friends. Diane and Gord downsized and moved to a Seniors' Cottage in Holyrood in 2023. They continued with their campground living in the summer.

Diane loved to travel; it could be a side-by-side day trip with, of course, a boil-up, which most times was a full meal, along the way. They enjoyed travelling to a warmer destination in the winter, be it all-inclusive or a cruise and the last couple of years, spending a few weeks each year in Florida.

Gord and family would like to thank the staff at the Bliss Murphy Cancer Treatment Center for the compassion and care that Diane received during the course of her time spent there.

Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm at Barrett’s Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, December 9th. Burial to take place at the Pentecostal Cemetery in Grand Falls-Windsor on April 11, 2026. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
