November 16, 1938 - November 12, 2025
Fred “Anthony” Sferrazzo Jr., born November 16, 1938, to Fred Sr. and Rose Sferrazzo of Omaha. He passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 12, 2025 in his home, after battling a 2-year onset of a rare blood cancer. After residing for many years in Des Moines, Iowa, with his wife, Linda, he returned to Omaha to fulfill his wish of spending his latter months surrounded by his family in his hometown.
Anthony honorably served in the US Navy during the Vietnam era. Following his discharge, he remained in California, where he pursued a career in hairstyling after attending Cosmetology school. He began his career in Lacanada, California. He had a unique opportunity to work in Hollywood, styling cast members on the set of several iconic shows. In his later years, he returned to the Midwest to join his cousin’s emerging Salon Francois as lead stylist. He also served as an instructor at the Americana Beauty School in the 1970’s. Anthony subsequently opened his own hair salon, working alongside his wife, Linda for many years. He retired at the age of 72. He dedicated his leisure time to managing the salon business and the bookkeeping, hunting, fishing, and attending bike nights in the summer and long rides with his wife on his Harley motorcycle. His greatest passion became golf. He was an avid player, golfing two to three times a week with friends until the age of 85. Anthony remained active for his age, never allowing anything to hinder his enjoyment of the outdoors. He also cherished dinner and cocktails with friends and large family gatherings, often delighting in recounting stories from his childhood and younger years.
Anthony is survived by his wife, Linda Rae; his two daughters, Sheri and spouse Mark, Shelly and spouse Stephen; five grandchildren, Patrik and spouse Bridget, Mackenzie, Jacob and spouse Madison, Jeffrey and spouse Katelyn, and Joshua; 4 great grandchildren, Ella, Oliver, Laisynn, and Harlow; his sister Rosemarie and brother-in-law Sam.
He will be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews and remembered by many others.
