It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marie M.

McClain, who passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by loved ones, on

November 12th, 2025, in Delray Beach, Florida, at the age of 91. She was loved and

cherished by many and will be remembered as a woman of remarkable strength, courage,

and grace.

Her deep love of the sea and boating was unwavering and shared with the love of her life,

Gary, who predeceased her. The stories of their adventures on the water will forever live in

our memories. Marie and Gary were longtime and much-loved residents of Captain’s Walk

in Pelican Harbor, Delray Beach, Florida.

Throughout her 91 years, Marie accomplished so much. She founded and operated her

own accounting practice, Marie M. McClain, E.A., where she provided tax preparation,

financial planning, and securities services. She was a member of NASD and SAPC, a past

President of the Broward County Chapter of Accountants, and a past Treasurer of the

Broward Chapter of PWP. She also earned a degree in nursing and was a distinguished

boat captain one of the titles she cherished most.

Born on April 21st, 1934, in Lynn, Massachusetts, Marie was predeceased by her father,

Felix Boudreau; her mother, Loretta Boudreau; her husband, Gary E. McClain; her son,

Richard Roy; her stepdaughter, Christine McClain; and her stepson, Gary McClain Jr. They

will forever remain in our hearts.

Marie is survived by her children, Cathryne LaFerrara of Delray Beach, Florida; Robert Roy

and his wife Mary of Lakeland, Florida; Theresa Roy and her husband Bill of Loxahatchee,

Florida; Ronald Roy and his wife Meloney of Coral Springs, Florida; and Cheryl Laber and

her husband Steve of Tennessee.

Marie leaves behind many beloved grandchildren, including Rob Roy Jr. of Florida, Tina Roy

of Florida, Katie Roy of Florida, Sean Flynn of Florida, William Oldag of North Carolina,

Cody Oldag of North Carolina, Tyler Peterson of North Carolina, Travis Peterson of South

Carolina, Tiffany Roy of New Jersey, Michael Roy of Florida, and Amanda Roy of Florida, as

well as a cherished extended family of great-grandchildren.

In accordance with her final wishes, the ashes of Marie, her beloved husband, and their

cherished pets Misty, Starbuck, and Muffin will be spread at sea during a private ceremony,

allowing her to rest eternally in the waters she so dearly loved.
