The Legacy of Louis Calvin Bradley (LC)

Louis Calvin “LC” Bradley, the third of twelve children born to the late Willie and Delma Grace Robinson Bradley, entered this world on March 9, 1946, in Longview, Texas. He attended Womack High School in Longview, where he met the love of his life, Eva Wright. They married and were blessed with six children: Vincent, Trina, Kelvin, Louis, Carlos, and Eric. LC and Eva shared forty-two years of marriage until her passing. Later, LC married Leola, and together they welcomed one son, Jayden.

Raised in a Christian home, LC was drawn to the ministry from an early age. He furthered his education at Kilgore College and built a strong work ethic through his employment with Ben E. Keith Produce Company. He later served as a welder at Trinity for forty-one years. Following his retirement, LC devoted himself fully to the work of the Lord at Northside Church of Christ. Over approximately twenty-seven years, he served the ministry at Bear Springs Church of Christ, 2208 Church of Christ, and Northside Church of Christ. He faithfully attended workshops, lectureships, ministers’ conferences, and gospel meetings, where he was often invited as an honorary speaker.

Following in the footsteps of his father, he devoted himself to raising his children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, resulting in two of his sons becoming ministers in the Church of Christ. His greatest blessing was his children, who lovingly cared for him; Trina devoted herself tirelessly to his care alongside her siblings.

LC was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Delma Bradley; his beloved wife, Eva; and one sister, Bennie Faye.

Those who cherish his memory include his children: Vincent, Trina, Lewis (Phyllis), Carlos (Peggy), Eric (Chelsea), Kelvin (Lundy), and Jayden; his siblings: Willie (Dorothy), Louella, Sherry (Don), Gayle (Scotty), Peggy, Ricky (Cassandra), Timmy, Charles, Delane (Steve), and Willie Ruth; twenty-two grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends.
