Born on November 14, 1942, Barbara A. “Miss B.” Steele peacefully departed this life at home, in her bed, at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Elmer Sr. and Alice Morris Ervin; her siblings Vivian Williams, Fred Ervin Jr., Virgie Nero-Holmes, Gene Ervin, Stanley Ervin, and Donnie Ervin; and one son, Joe W. Adams Jr.
Barbara received her early education at Sulphur Public School and later attended Davis High School in Davis, Oklahoma.
She accepted Christ at an early age at Gilfield Baptist Church in Davis, Oklahoma. After relocating to Danville, Illinois, she became a dedicated member of Second Baptist Church, where she faithfully served in the Usher Ministry until the Lord called her home.
Barbara worked at Chuckles for more than 35 years, earning the respect and friendship of many throughout her decades of service.
She lived a full and active life, enjoying softball, shooting pool, and bowling. She loved dancing, cooking for her family, playing cards, and relaxing with karate movies, westerns, and her favorite soap operas.
Barbara was also a proud founding member of the Untouchable Motorcycle Club, where she remained an active and devoted member for more than 50 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Johnnie “Tip” Steele; three sons, Billy “JD” Hills of Davis, Oklahoma, Danny “DA” Adams of Danville, Illinois, and Vincent Steele of Indianapolis, Indiana; and one daughter, Kellie Steele of Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
A Celebration of life will commence at 12:00 Noon Saturday November 22, 2025 at Hope Unlimited Church, 428 N. Walnut St. Danville.Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Eulogist: Pastor Christopher Cowen. Interment will be at Spring Hill Cemetery.
