Addie Bell Smith was born on October 10, 1949, in Carrizo Springs, Texas, to the late Felton Franks and Allie Mae Franks. From an early age, Addie’s life was shaped by faith, love, and a deep commitment to serving others. Addie accepted Christ when she was young and began her spiritual walk at Prince of Peace Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas. Under the leadership of Rev. Iris Woodard James where she served faithfully as an Usher for many years. Her dedication and warm spirit made her a beloved presence within the church. In April of 2025, she united with Emmanuel Pentecostal Church of God in Christ, where she immediately became a devoted and active member. Addie loved praising the Lord and was over the "Week Of An Evangelist". She constantly reached out to others, inviting them to church, encouraging them to seek Christ, and praying they would accept Him as their Savior. Her desire to worship was unwavering; she loved the Lord, she loved her church, and she believed in being on time for every service. Addie truly lived her faith. Addie received her education at Booker T. Washington School, where she graduated with pride. She later entered the workforce with the same dedication she carried throughout every part of her life. She worked in the Housekeeping Department at the Marriott, where she was known for her strong work ethic and warm personality. After her time there, she continued working through Kelly Services, where she remained until her retirement. Even after retiring, Addie continued serving others by volunteering for several years at the District 2 City of San Antonio., faithfully performing the duties assigned to her. She loved helping people, and if someone was in need, she didn’t hesitate to give, even if it was her last. Her giving heart touched countless lives. Addie was blessed with a sweet and gentle spirit. Her smile could brighten any room, and her kindness uplifted everyone she encountered. Those who knew her will never forget her warmth, generosity, and genuine love for people. Addie was united in marriage to the love of her life, Raymond Smith, with whom she shared a beautiful and devoted union. Addie was proceeded in death by her father, Felton Franks; mother, Allie Mae Franks; her brothers Lonnie Franks, Chester Franks, and Felton Franks Jr.; and her grandson, Michael Boyd. She Leaves to Cherish Her Precious Memory her daughters, Angela Smith and Nicole Johnson (“Piggy”); her siblings, Mary Holland, Betty Brown, Louis Franks, Vanessa Wheeler, and Henry Franks; her grandchildren, Devonne Smith, Jasmine Smith, Jerome Boyd, James Mann, Ja’ceara Caldwell and Jaceon Caldwell (Kyng); her great-grandchildren, Aaronae Jone’s, James Mann Jr, Jerome Boyd Jr., Mi’Angel Boyd and a large host of extended family, god-children, and cherished friends.
