Mary Elizabeth Heimert Obituary

Mary Elizabeth (nee Albers) Heimert, 85, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on December 11, 1939, in Cincinnati, Mary grew up in the city she loved. She later married and had two children, living in several cities across the US before settling in Libertyville, Illinois. There, she was a senior executive assistant at Baxter International for 24 years. After retiring, she returned to Cincinnati and became an active member of the Downtown Residents Council (DRC), becoming the social and outreach board member and helping plan numerous events and supporting many community causes.

Mary is survived by her partner, Sue Byrom; her former husband, Al Heimert; her sister, Fran (Paul) Rappoport; her children Michael (Randi) Heimert and Shari Heimert Harris; grandchildren Lauren (Andrew) Bosse, Chris (Morgan) Harris, Alison (Matt) Hiner, Greg (Lindsey) Harris, Dylan Heimert, Taylor Heimert and great-grandchildren Reese, Penelope, James, Ford, Wesley, and Nora.

Mary will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and love of people. She loved travel, animals, good food, and-always-an enthusiastic pour of red wine. Above all, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
