Anita E. Buttner
Age 93, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025. A long-time resident of the Carillon Community in Plainfield for the past 26 years, Anita previously lived in Arizona and Chicago.
Anita was passionate about knitting, particularly tiny hats for preemies, reflecting her immense heart. She found joy in gardening, cultivating vibrant blooms with patience and dedication. A lover of music, she filled her home with Mexican and country melodies. She enjoyed playing Bingo and cards (Kings in the Corner) and showcased her playful spirit during trips to the casino where she enjoyed the lively atmosphere.
Known for her compassion and kindness, one notable act of generosity was when Anita paid a man's copay bills when he couldn't afford it, displaying her selflessness. She also found joy in caring for stray animals, often feeding cats, birds, and squirrels in her community. A quote she cherished from Charlie Chaplin encapsulated her spirit: “He who feeds a hungry animal, feeds his/her own soul.” This reflects her deep empathy and connection to the well-being of all living creatures.
