Shirley L. Richards, 91, of Millville, NJ passed away on Wednesday November 12, 2025 at the Inspira Medical Center, Vineland, NJ. Shirley was born & raised in Johnstown, PA before moving to Vineland and later to Millville. She was the daughter of the late David S. & Nellie L. (Davis) Ludwig.


Shirley started her working career as a waitress at Jim & Larry’s Diner in Vineland. She was later employed at Zaberers Restaurant in McKee City for many years before going to secretarial school. She worked as a secretary at National Freight before working for the Vineland Board of Education and retiring in 1996. She was a member of the 1st Assembly of God Church in Millville. She loved flowers and animals of all kinds. She enjoyed good food, listening to gospel music, and loved spending time with her dog Princess.


She is survived by her granddaughter; Madison (Richards) Pierce,

Sister; Doris (Ludwig) Price & the extended Price families, nephews, nieces, and their families in Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her son Steven L. Richards in 2014, her step sisters Helen L. (Ludwig) Dremley, Mary E. (Ludwig) Stermec, her brothers Donald L. Ludwig, and Edward G. Ludwig.

After the passing of her son, she was cared for by her great nephew Ronald Tomlin, his wife Robin and their family.
