Evelyn Cole Obituary

In Loving Memory of Evelyn Cole

Peacefully in Carleton Place hospital with Donna and Connie by her side, on November 12, 2025 at the age of 93.

Charter Member of Tops (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) for over 50 years, faithful member of Trinity United Church, and long time volunteer at Canadian Blood Services blood donor clinics.

She was best known for her baking and knitting (afghans, bed socks and Newfie mitts were her specialty).

Evelyn lived in Lively for 70 years until she moved to Carleton Place in August 2021 to be closer to daughter Connie.

Left to mourn are daughters Connie Cole (Carleton Place) and Donna Potter (Newmarket), grandson Jeremy (Dana) and great-grand-daughter Aria (Sudbury), many nieces and nephews, wonderful friends in Lively and Carleton Place and residents of the Riverview Seniors Residence in Carleton Place. Predeceased by her husband Jack of 54 years, eldest daughter Nancy, sister Laureen Corboy and brother Calvin Morrison.

Evelyn lived a long life full of love, pride and laughter and so many memories. She touched so many lives with her warm smile and infectious laugh. She always had a grace about her that we just don’t see much anymore. But she was ready to go and was able to do it on her own terms and in her own way – just closed her eyes and went to sleep.

A Celebration of Life will take place in the Spring of 2026 in Lively. Dates to be determined.

Donations to the Trinity United Church memorial fund or the Ryan’s Well Foundation (both charities near and dear to her heart) would be greatly appreciated.
