Arnaldo P. Ponte, 59, of Providence, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of the late Nelia M. Tavares Cabral.

Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria (Pereira) da Ponte.

Mr. Ponte worked in construction for New England Construction and Landscaping. He was a motorcycle enthusiast who loved fishing and playing cards. He was known to be a jokester and a hardworking man who was loved by his family and friends.

He leaves four children, Hugo Cabral Ponte of Providence, Jessica Morin and her husband Matthew of Washington, Stefhanie Ponte of Georgia and Jason Ponte of Providence, five grandchildren, Darian Ponte, Reagan Morin, Elena Morin, Mason Underwood and Nelia Underwood, three siblings, Antonio M. Ponte, Adriana M. Ponte and Adalina M. Canto and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral and visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 21 Traverse Street, Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
