OWENS, R Mildred (nee Burditt)

Mildred Owens, aged 90 years, passed away at Norman Regional Hospital on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

She was born December 23, 1934, in Maysville, Oklahoma the youngest child of William Reece and Ella (Lewis) Burditt. Mildred was a 1952 graduate of Lexington High School

and on January 21, 1956 she married Garl T. Owens of Noble. She and Garl spent 65 loving years together before his death in 2021. Mildred found her career early in banking and worked at First National Bank of Norman from 1960

and subsequently Liberty Bank from which she retired in 1994. In her spare time Mildred loved to bowl, crochet, read, and play bridge, but her biggest passion was the Oklahoma Sooners whether it was football, basketball or softball.

Survivors include her daughter Virginia and numerous nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and older siblings Leon, Marvin, Clyde, Gus, Bill, Bob and sister Myrtle .
