Ronald E. Bolton, better known as “Pap,” age 91, took his place in the happy hunting grounds on November 12, 2025. He was the loving husband of Betty J. (Brown) Bolton; together they shared 70 years of marriage.
Ron was born in York, PA on September 22, 1934 and was the son of the late Thomas and Margaret (Smith) Bolton. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. During hunting season, he could always be found at his hunting camp in Clearfield County, PA. He loved spending time in his boat on the bay, crabbing, fishing and making years of memories with his grandkids at Leisure Point in Millsboro, DE. A talented musician and vocalist, Ron sang, picked the mandolin, and most memorably, danced with well-known bluegrass band, Pigeon Hill Station. For over 40 years, Ron was a dedicated employee of Heidler Roofing prior to retiring, twice. He was a talented sheet metal mechanic and skilled roofer. His craftsmanship can still be admired on several significant local buildings.
In addition to his loving wife Betty, Ronald is survived by his children Kathy Rohrbaugh and husband Larry, Connie Hess and husband Dale, and Ron Bolton and wife Cindy; his grandchildren Laci, Tyler, Emily, Becky, Carly, Mollie, and Tanner; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Norma Lee Jacobs and Brad Bolton and wife Dorothy.
