Mary Antoinette Pausch, age 78 (12/31/1946 - 11/12/2025) passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. A devoted Catholic, Mary lived her life grounded in faith, hope, and love, and her family rejoices in the promise of seeing her again.
Mary was a kind, caring, and generous soul—feisty in spirit yet endlessly gentle. A natural caretaker, she had a remarkable way of making people feel cherished, supported, and safe. Family was at the center of her world. She devoted her life to raising her three children—David, Julie (Craig), and Michael (Shannon)—with unwavering dedication and tenderness and was especially loving and protective of her oldest son, David, who has Down syndrome.
Her grandchildren—Colin, Ryan, Tenley, and Austin—were her treasures. She helped raise them, tenderly spoiled them, and poured her heart into their lives. Mary shared an extraordinary bond with her husband, Terry. Together, they built a life overflowing with affection, faith, and simple joys, serving as an inspiration to all who knew them.
Mary is survived by her husband of 58 years, Terry; her children and their families; and her siblings, Judith (Gordon) and Steven (Gail). She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles W. and Mary Ann Schmidbauer; her parents-in-law, John and Eileen Pausch; and her brother, Charles J. Schmidbauer (Margaret).
A visitation will be held at ST. DOMINIC CATHOLIC CHURCH on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to Special Olympics Wisconsin, a cause close to Mary’s heart.
