Cathy Ann Declue Obituary

Cathy Ann DeClue was born on November 14, 1960, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Shortly after her birth, her family settled in Casper, Wyoming, where she grew up and later graduated from Kelly Walsh High School.

Cathy spent many years working in the Casper community, including at Country Kitchen and Hilltop Drug. She later married Mike DeClue, and the couple moved to Evanston, where she worked at a local bank. They welcomed one son, Donald DeClue, before eventually separating.

One of the most meaningful chapters of Cathy’s life was the 18 years she devoted to caring for Ashley, Austin, and Brady Echelberger as a nanny for Mike and Penny Echelberger’s family. During this time, she formed deep, lasting bonds with the children she helped raise—relationships that remained important to her throughout her life.

Cathy later moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where she worked at Walmart for seven years and continued to touch the lives of those around her with her kindness and steady work ethic.

Known for her sweet nature, thoughtfulness, and generous spirit, Cathy brought comfort, care, and quiet strength to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered with love and deeply missed.

Cathy is survived by her mother, Lynda Coyne; her son, Donald DeClue; her sister, Penny Echelberger; her nephews, Austin and Brady Echelberger; her niece, Ashley Echelberger; and her grandson, James DeClue.

She passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025.
