Cynthia L. Hoar, 78, of Lewistown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born December 17, 1946, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Raymond “Brownie” and Ruth “Boots” (Haller) Henry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Walter Mayes, and by a great grandchild, Gianna.

Cynthia is lovingly survived by her children, Joe Hoar, of Lewistown; Scott Hoar and his wife, Sally, of Burnham; and Curt Hoar, of Etters; as well as her companion Walter’s children, Michael Mayes and his wife, Amy, of Kentucky, and Doug Mayes and his wife, Michele, of Colorado. She is also survived by her siblings, Bill Henry and his wife, Mary, of Richfield; Nancy Haines, of Lewistown; and Ron Henry and his wife, Stella, of Lewistown; along with 11 grandchildren,14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Cynthia was a proud member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She found joy in gardening, spending time outdoors in every season, being surrounded by her family, and sharing life with her beloved furry companion, Lucy.

Per her wishes, no services will be held.

Arrangements have been entrusted to King Funeral Home & Crematory, 47 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville.
