Anthony L. Roman
November 12, 2025
Anthony L. "Tony" Roman, 86, of Union Court, Pine Grove, passed away peacefully at home on November 12, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer and dementia.
Born on November 19, 1938 in Pine Grove, he was the only child of the late Anthony and Emily Schwartz Roman.
Tony was a 1956 graduate of Pine Grove Area High School and attended Central Penn Business School in Harrisburg.
He worked in sales and was co-owner of Zimmerman Advertising in Harrisburg.
His passion was horse racing. He claimed and lost many horses and enjoyed racing them on tracks all over the East Coast. He was most proud of his horse Who's Bluffing, who won numerous races and held the track record for time at Penn National Race Course.
An avid walker, he enjoyed daily walks at Bubeck Park in Schuylkill Haven until he was unable to do so. He enjoyed weekly games of pinochle at the Schuylkill Haven Sr. Center and at the Lodge in Lake Wynonah. He belonged to two Volks marchers clubs in the area- The Susquehanna Rovers and Liberty Bell Wanderers.
Surviving are his family, Jane Krammes Spink, Suellen Spink, and several cousins.
There will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made in his memory to Suellen's workplace with Avenues, Lessie's Garden and Greenhouse, 2 Park St. Pottsville, PA 17901 or Team Schuylkill Special Olympics, 2158 Ave. C., Suite 201, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
Jane and Suellen want to thank the nurses and aides with Lehigh Valley Hospice for their dedicated and compassionate care, especially Debra, Jocelyn and Liz.
Tony will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Suellen truly believes he is living happily in Red Neck Heaven.
The H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove is in charge of arrangements and you may send condolences online at www.hlsnyderfuneralhome.com
