Mr. Franklin Douglas Player, 83, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
Born in Florence, SC, he was a son of the late Cameron Player and the late Beulah Miller Saleeby. He served in the United States Army. Mr. Player was a talented mechanic and was the owner and operator of Player’s Garage and Body Shop. He found great joy in fishing as long as his health allowed.
Surviving are his son, Danny Franklin Player; grandchildren, Heather Player, Amber Player, Danny Player, Jr., Brittany Player, Christian Player, Trey Player; great-grandchildren, Lila, Eason, Oliver.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Campbell Player; sons, Timothy Player, Michael Player, and Richard Player.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in Florence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 12:30 p.m.
