DORSET- Michael E. Oates, 69, passed away in his home on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Born on April 7, 1956, he was one of ten children of Arthur L. Oates and Margaret E. (Shuster) Foster. On August 28, 1999, Mike married his beloved wife, Pamela (Sauers) Oates.

Mike worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for several years. In his spare time, his garage was his sanctuary, a place where he could immerse himself in his mechanic projects. It was here that Mike spent countless hours tinkering, improving, and admiring the outcome of his hard work. He also enjoyed spending time out on the lake fishing. 

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 26 years, Pamela Oates; two daughters, Nicole Oates and Monica Oates; eight siblings, Tom Oates, Charlie (Nancy) Oates, Margaret Webker, Tina (Terry) Smith, Jamie (Juan) Miranda, Velma Priddy, James (Joan) Oates, Myrtle (Bonzell) Harvey as well as eight grandchildren.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Arthur L. Oates and his brother, David Oates.

Per his wishes, no services will be held.
