
Vilma L. Zieke passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, surrounded by her family. Vilma (Poochie) was born on September 27, 1926, to Maria and Telesforo Ferrettie.
On May 3, 1947, Vilma married Theodore Zieke (Pop) and were married for 68 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Theodore Zieke; sisters, Bruna Ferrettie, Ida Madou; brother-in-law, Ed Madou; son-in-law, Jerry Long; and grandsons, John and Paul Long.
Surviving are her children, Patti (Tom) Stoner, Pamela Long, Larry (Fran) Zieke, Cindi (Randy) Stoner, Teddi (Dave) Tepe; grandchildren, Tommy (Tina) Stoner, Andy (Amy) Stoner, Amy Bennett, Jennifer (Rich) Pierce, Whitney (Fred) Hershberger, Jay (Marybeth) Zieke, Zac Zieke, Kristy (Robert) Nix, Kelly (Shad) Robakowski, Kyle (Mindy) Stoner, Stacie (Steve) Mueller, Brittany (Ron) Signore; great grandchildren, Tevin (Kayla), Ava, Jack, Ruby, Morgan, Megan, Evan, Olivia (Carl), Elliott, Emma, Eden, Tyler (Tora), Kennady, Abby, Randi, Trenton, Ashton, Kellan, Bayne, Brooklyn, Derek (Paige), Lucas, Nicole, Maria (Brant), John, Cameron (Amanda), Zachary, Kayla, Stella, Jane, Ronnie, Logan; great great grandchildren; Will, Tyleah, Everett, Lane, Michael, Lyam, Morgan; and several nieces and nephews.
Vilma, better known as Poochie, worked at Kroger and was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church. She loved God, Notre Dame, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. She was proud of her Italian heritage and made caplet for every holiday. She was selfless, hardworking, and loved by all. Poochie had the best sense of humor. Although she will be missed, her legacy will live on in her adoring family.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, November 17, from 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 18, at 11:00 AM, in St. Bavo Catholic Church, 511 W 7th St, Mishawaka. Burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Bavo Catholic Church.
