Margaret “Peggy” D. Permenter, 70, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Carroll Lutheran Village.
Born January 6, 1955, in Catonsville, she was the daughter of the late Richard Davis and Eleanor Ardel (Pinault) Dean. She was the loving wife of Joseph “Joe” H. Permenter, her husband of over 40 years.
Peggy earned her bachelor's degree from Loyola University. She spent most of her working career as a contract project manager for Lockheed Martin. Peggy was a passionate advocate for dogs, spending countless hours training, showing, and nurturing her beloved companions. Her dedication earned her numerous awards and the admiration of peers across the country. In her spare time, Peggy enjoyed reading and sewing. She was an avid Ravens fan. She will be deeply missed.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her siblings Shari Mattos and husband Frank of Forest Hill and Robert Dean and wife Cheryl of Catonsville, siblings in law Cheryl P. McFadden of Westminster, Michael F. Permenter and wife Irene of Georgia and M. Cecile Permenter of Florida; brother-in-law Michael Masterson of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sister-in-law Alicia P. Masterson.
The family will welcome friends for a memorial mass on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 11am at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe Street, Westminster, MD. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023 Merrifield VA 22116-7023.
