Alice Jean Hutchinson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, in Birch Run, Michigan, at the age of 88. Born on July 2, 1937, Alice lived and worked on a farm her entire life, embodying the values of hard work, humility, and deep connection to the land. She also worked as a waitress at the Exit Restaurant and Market Street, where her warm smile and kind spirit made her a favorite among customers and coworkers alike. Alice was a longtime member of St. Martin Lutheran Church, where she found comfort, community, and spiritual fulfillment. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, reflected in her generosity and gentle presence.

She is survived by her five sons: Patrick (Amy Lamoureux), Michael, John (Ofelina), Tony (Kati), and Brian (Caterina); and her cherished grandchildren: Nicole, Tony, Jakob, Julian, Lily, and Alexander.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hutchinson, and her parents, Herbert and Dora Deuring.

She was also mother to many of the friends of the sons, treating each like a member of the family. She was always ready to help out any of her boys!

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the special people who brought comfort and companionship to Alice: Eric Peterson, Char Haas, Cathy Davis, Dianne Duby, Sharon Tackebury, Christina Lavery, Sherry, and the compassionate nurses at Compassus Hospice. Their kindness and care meant the world to Alice and her family.

Whether rising with the sun tending to the fields or greeting guests with grace at the restaurant, Alice brought strength and joy to those around her. Her presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at St. Martin Lutheran Church -10995 Canada Rd, Birch Run, burial to follow in Birch Run Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 11AM until 8PM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run and on Thursday at Church from 10AM until the time of service. Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life and share memories.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Martin Lutheran Church in honor of Alice’s lifelong kindness and care for others.
