Eric “EA” Allen Lawson Sr, 66 of Galax, VA passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025. He was born in Galax, VA on April 23, 1959 to the late Carl Lee Lawson and Lorita Richerson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Charles Lawson.

He is survived by three sons, Eric Allen Lawson Jr. (Maria) of Independence, VA; Daniel Lee Lawson of Bland, VA, and Joshua Adam Lawson of Dublin, VA; daughter, Tabitha Reed (Keena) of Colorado; a brother, James Lawson (Tammy) of Galax, VA; sisters, Peggy Sue Shaffer of Galax, VA, Judy Elliot of Galax, VA, and Shirley Alford of Galax, VA. Several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A celebration of life service will be held at on Monday, November 17, 2025 at High Country Services beginning at 7:00pm with Wade Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 6:00pm until 7:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family to assist funerals expenses by using the Tribute Fund on his obituary page.
