Orien R. Plaugic (O'Brien), 89 years of age, died peacefully at home on November 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 3 to 7 p.m. The funeral will begin in the funeral home on Wednesday morning, November 19, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. then to St. Stephen’s R.C. Church where a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Cremation will be private.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, on December 7, 1935, to her parents Timothy and Jean O'Brien (Barr), she resided in Newark until moving to Kearny in 1969.

Orien was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, John Allan Sr. " Allan" her parents, Timothy and Jean O' Brien; her brothers, Timothy and Sean; her sister, Patty Moulton; her grandson, Ryan; and her sons-in-law, Scott and Dennis.

Orien is survived by her loving children: Maryallyn (Peter), Pauline (George), John Allan Jr. (Marjorie), Eileen (Ron), and Nancy (Dave). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jean-Marie, John Allan III (Romina), Scott (Christie), Kyle (Natalie), Timothy (Jennifer), Eric (Genese), Kellie (Eric), Patricia (Paolo), 15 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way, her sister, Jean Kay; her sister-in-law, Margaret Plaugic; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Orien was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be forever missed by all of her family.

The family extends its sincere gratitude to Edith for the compassionate and loving care provided during Orien's final days.
