Betty Ruth Valenti, 95, lovingly known as “Mama V”, died peacefully on November 12, 2025.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Earl & Ruth Hill, husband of 40 years, Tony Valenti, and son, Tony Valenti, Jr. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Vickie Phillips, who has been her main caretaker for years, grandchildren, Angela Towne (Josh), Donald Stokes (Tammy), Wanda Smith (Johnnie), Marlene Pitts (Jeff), Janine Mattocks (Terri), and Kirk Phillips (Kathy). She had 12 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Mama V will be remembered by her infectious smile, sense of humor, and the way she always welcomed you no matter who you were. Her many stories and jokes will live on in our hearts forever, but we are so glad that she is now resting in the arms of Jesus.
A special thank you to Mama V’s caregivers Lorri, Yesenia, Wanda, and Kay. They have helped so much during these final weeks.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston with Ray Farmer officiating.
