Betty Jane Bull Obituary

Mrs. Betty Jane Bull, 81, of Homer, passed away following a period of declining health on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

Betty was born May 31, 1944 in Auburn, a daughter of the late Richard VanVleck and Mary Jane Delong.

Betty had been employed at several places over the years, most recently she retired from Walden Place as the receptionist.  

She enjoyed quilting and knitting, traveling, her church family at Faith Baptist Church and shopping.

Betty will be greatly missed by her loving family, her four children, Shelley (Mikel) Bennett of Trumansburg; Melissa (Rocco) Natale of Homer; Amy Fletcher (Garrett Weaver) of Johnson City and Tim Bull of Homer; nine grandchildren, Christina (Patrick) Mahoney; Mikel Bennett, II (Niki Olin);  Dominick Natale; Allyson Natale; Joshua Fletcher; Noah Fletcher; John Fletcher (Brianna Frank); Nathan Fletcher and Jonah Bull; a great granddaughter, Lilianna Mahoney; her sister, Cledette (Bill) Funk; her brother-in-law, Michael Henry and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John E. Bull in 2023; her sister, Sondra Henry and her nephew, Bill Burda.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer, NY 13077, with Pastor Matthew Smith officiating. Interment in Glenwood Cemetery will be at at the convenience of the family.  

The family will be present to receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Bull’s name may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
