Linda Ann Nelson, age 78, of Camden, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on May 26, 1947, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Erwin and Dorothy (Borst) Lyon. Linda married William Nelson on August 3, 1968, and he survives.

Linda graduated from Muskegon High School in 1965, and from Eastern Michigan University in 1968 with a degree in education. For many years, Linda taught children with visual impairments before she decided to continue her education to become a nurse. She graduated with her BSN from Madonna University in 1984 and began working at Hutsel Hospital in Detroit and later at Ardmore Psychiatric Hospital. Linda also worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield as an insurance auditor, and for the Branch Hillsdale St. Joseph Health Department. Linda was a member of the Salem Church in Waldon, and she enjoyed volunteering for CASA of Hillsdale County. She also enjoyed painting, solving crossword puzzles, and caring for her animals.

In addition to her husband of 57 years, Bill Nelson, Linda is survived by two children, Jennifer (Randy) Goris of Adrian, and Steven (Paula) Nelson of Parker, Colorado; eight grandchildren, Kristen (Lucas) Gutierrez, Brittany Tucker, Jacob (Ashley) Tucker, Ryan Nelson, Samantha Nelson, Tim Wisneski, Darion Goris, and Dakota Goris; and seven great-grandchildren.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her son, David Nelson; and her sister, Patricia Harwood.

Memorial services for Linda Nelson will be held Friday, November 21, 2025, at 11:30 AM, at the Salem Church in Waldron with Pastor Dorothy Ritchey-Moore officiating. A private family burial will take place at Frontier Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
