It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Edna Scott, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Helen passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 12th, 2025, at the Newaygo County Compassion Home at the age of 91.

Helen was born on June 8th, 1934, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and was adopted by Edward and Mary (Smith) Koonsman. She dedicated her life to being a homemaker, and those who knew Helen remember her love for reading, crafting, and traveling. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Koonsman; her beloved husband of 71 years , Charles Scott; daughters Barbara Schlattman and Mary Rogers; daughter-in-law Wendy Scott; and sons-in-law, Kevin Robins and Dan Rogers, along with three grandsons. Helen is survived by her daughter, Kathy Robins of Fremont, MI; her son, Bruce Scott; eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. 

A private graveside service will be held at a later date to honor and celebrate Helen’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to the Newaygo County Compassion Home, a cause close to Helen's heart. Arrangements have been entrusted to Crandell Funeral Home - Fremont Chapel.
