Valan Lyn Ridenour, age 73, of Troy, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Wooded Glen Health Care in Springfield.  She was born on October 15, 1952, in Troy, to the late Paul E. and Josephine J. (Wright) Martin.

Valan is survived by two children: Nicholas M. (Kate) Ridenour of Huber Heights, OH, and Heather L. (Jeremy) Vaught of Delaware, OH; three grandchildren: Emmett, Zoë and Quinton Vaught; two brothers: Paul N. (Judy) Martin and Edward N. Martin, both of Troy; and longtime partner Jerry Pidcock of Conover, OH.

Valan was a 1971 graduate of Troy High School.  She worked at Hobart Brothers in Troy and in 2019, retired from Miller ITW.  Valan was an active band parent and member of the “Pit Crew” from 1998-2004.  She was an avid reader and traveler, with an appreciation of classic cars.

Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.  Family will receive friends from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Monday, November 17, 2025 at the funeral home.
