Milton, NY- Audrey Appleyard, a devoted mother, grandmother, and compassionate nurse, passed away on November 12, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on September 4, 1952 in Brooklyn, NY to Violet and William Appleyard.
Audrey grew up in a large and loving family as one of seven siblings.
Throughout her life, Audrey dedicated herself to caring for others as a strong and skilled psychiatric nurse. Her compassion, wisdom, and unwavering strength touched countless lives, both in her profession and in her community. She brought light, comfort, and understanding to everyone she met, and her kindness left an enduring mark on those who knew her.
Audrey is survived by her two children, Justin and Olivia Viger, her son-in-law Brandon Vaillancourt, her beloved grandchild Myles Viger and her grandfurs Fiona Viger, Oreo Viger and Egor Vaillancourt. She will also be deeply missed by her brother George Appleyard, extended family, dear friends, co-workers, and the many lives she brightened throughout her years of service and love.
Audrey will be remembered for her strength, her laughs and her boundless love for her family. Her spirit continues to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A memorial gathering for family and friends, will take place on Saturday, November 22nd, 2-6 PM at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 38 Main St. Highland, NY 12528.
