Mary R (nee Gallo). November 12, 2025. Age 93 Beloved wife of the late Mark F. Giunta. Devoted mother of Mark (Patty) Giunta and Anthony (Jennifer) Giunta. Grandmother of Tara (Michael) Riccardi, Natalie Giunta, Maria (Ryan) Cassidy, Greta Giunta, Christina Giunta, and Anthony Giunta. Great-grandmother of Rocco, Mina, Ava and Trey.

Mary was born on March 24th, 1932 to the late Adeline and Frank Gallo in Philadelphia, PA. Predeceased by her siblings Concetta (Bill) Powell, Joseph (Mary) Gallo, Nunzio (Nancy) Gallo, Anthony (Vicki) Gallo, Grace (Alfred) Barone, Adeline (Sam) Manduzio. Survived by Frank (Rosalie) Gallo Jr. Also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.

Mary married Mark Giunta on October 17th, 1953 and were married for 71 years. They resided in Bella Vista in Mary’s childhood home. Mary was a homemaker for her sons and caretaker for her parents. She ventured out to the workplace in the early 1990s working at Sarcone’s, the neighborhood bakery. At the same time, Mary took on her new title of “Gram” where she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and cooking them delicious recipes passed down from her mother Adeline.

Mary will be remembered for her loving, but fiery personality. She would always say what’s on her mind, not shy to share how she felt with anyone. Mary’s close family and friends appreciated her honesty and loyalty.

Relatives and friends are invited to her VIEWING on Tuesday, November 18th, 2025 10AM at The Church of Saint Paul, 9th and Christian Sts., Philadelphia, PA. Followed by her Funeral Mass at 11AM. Int. Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to St. Paul’s Church.
