Ronald E. Tate Obituary

 Ronald E. Tate entered this life on November 24, 1940, in Indianapolis, IN.  He passed away on November 12, 2025 at the Willows of Shelbyville.

He was the son of Verdelous and Rosalie (Denton) Tate.  Ron grew up on the Westside of Indianapolis and graduated from George Washington High School in 1959.

Ron grew up with 5 brothers and 2 sisters and then went into the Army in June 1959.  After the Army service Ron worked at Speedway Machine and Tool for 7 years and then at General Motors for over 30 years before retiring.

In March of 1965, he married Connie Havens.  They were married for 40 years before Connie passed away.  Ronald and Connie had 4 daughters; Debbie Rice, Tammy Floring, Sara Conner and Rebecca Smith and they survive.  During retirement Ron married Alice Martin on September 4, 2009, and she survives. They shared 16 loving years of marriage together.

He enjoyed visiting people in nursing homes and the hospital to give cheer and prayers.  He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Alice and getting together with family and friends at the Senior Citizens and Hope’s Point Church.

Ron is also survived by his brothers, Jack Tate and Jerry Tate; his sisters, Donna Murphy and Susan Malcom.

  He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Charles Tate, Rob Tate, Don Tate.

  Visitation will be Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 11 a.m. to Noon at Hopes Point Baptist Church, 1703 S. Miller Ave., Shelbyville, IN  46176

 Funeral services will follow at Noon at the church with Pastor Greg Albert officiating.

  Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery with military honors conducted by our local veteran organization.
