Gregory Bruce Hodgson Obituary

Gregory B. Hodgson, 74, of Massillon, formerly of Navarre, passed away quietly, early Wednesday morning, November 12, 2025.  Born in Navarre, July 2, 1951, a son to the late Thomas C. and Patricia R. (Nommay) Hodgson, Greg graduated from Fairless High School with the Class of 1969.  He retired as the Maintenance Supervisor for Heartland Behavioral Healthcare in Massillon following thirty years of dedicated service.

Technologically-minded from and early age, Greg was always eager to learn new things.  He liked tinkering and working with his hands.  This led to an interest in personal computers and gaming.  He parlayed what began as a hobby into almost a second career, building and improving computers and gaming systems for himself, family and friends.  Often his innovations were ahead of the market, but they were always just for fun and a way to relax.

Greg had also gained the trust of the Amish community.  Lending his skills as a handyman and providing  transportation to several folks and families – especially those who worked at the Amish Door Restaurant and Market in Wilmot.

A loving and supportive dad, and a devoted and fun-loving grandpa, Greg enjoyed every minute the family spent together.  He lived by the Golden Rule, worked hard, helped where he could, listened to his Pink Floyd albums in his leisure time, and stayed humble.  That’s the legacy he leaves to those he loved.

Predeceased by his parents and step-mother, Patricia A. (Tulley) Hodgson, his wife, Beth Ann (Hoover) Hodgson, and a brother, Thomas C. Hodgson II; Greg is survived by his son, Gregory T. (Erin) Hodgson, of Jackson Township, grandsons, Blake, Jace, and Grady Hodgson, an extended family and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2025, at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon.  Burial will follow at Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre.  The family will receive condolences one hour before the funeral, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.  Your memories and condolences are always welcome and may be added here to Greg’s on-line guestbook.
