Kimberly Renee Campbell Obituary

Mrs. Kimberly (Kim) Renee Watts Campbell was born on June 8, 1959, in Jacksonville Florida. She was the second child of the late Tommie Watts, Jr., Mary Evelyn Peterson and Roosevelt Griffin.

Kim was raised in Jacksonville and joined Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church as a child. She was an active member in the youth and adult choirs. Kim graduated from Jean Ribault Senior High School and attended Florida Community College Jacksonville. She worked for Baptist Medical Center and was also a Mental Health Advocate. She was a strong proponent of fair and equitable treatment of people with mental health disorders and would often go to Tallahassee to speak on their behalf.

Kim was very caring, smart, and was known to be the life of the party at family gatherings. She was strong in her faith and loved reading her “red” Bible, drawing, singing and dancing. In 2018 the Lord ordered Kim’s steps, and she moved to Tampa Florida and gained another loving family. She remained in Tampa until her health began to decline. On November 12, 2025, Kim succumbed to her health issues for she knew that the battle was not hers but the Lord’s!

Kim was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Griffin; stepfather, Roosevelt Griffin; sister, Pamela Kight; father, Tommie Watts, Jr.; grandmother, Ruby Peterson.

She leaves behind her brother, Stevie Watts, Sr. (Deborah); sister, Vonda Jordan (Carlton); nieces, Lashanna Greene, Margaret Jordan, and Cheyenne Watts; nephews, Sean Watts (Tanya), Kevin Watts, Stevie Watts, Jr. and Michael Jordan (Megan); a host of loving great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, her Tampa family and friends including Beverly Lett, Ashley Jonesia, Andre Johnson, and Ava Johnson; special friends, Beverly McIntyre, Daisy Jones, and Tammy Mitchell.
