Maxine Michaeline Ricards Obituary

Maxine Michaeline Ricards, born on June 22, 1943, in Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on November 12, 2025, in Peachtree City, Georgia.

Throughout her life, Maxine was a beacon of compassion and dedication. Her professional journey as a medical administrator for Dr. Robert Bays was marked by kindness, efficiency, and a steadfast commitment to excellence. Her career was more than a job; it was an extension of her innate desire to care for others.

Maxine's passion for service extended well beyond her professional life. She was a visionary and a catalyst for change in her community. As a founder of Clothes Less Traveled and the Fayette County Animal Shelter, she dedicated herself to helping those in need, whether they were people or animals. Her tireless volunteer work left a lasting impact and inspired many to join her in her mission to make the world a better place.

She had a deep love for traveling, which enriched her soul and provided countless stories that she lovingly shared with family and friends. The ocean was her sanctuary, a place where she found peace and inspiration. Maxine also cherished music, finding joy in singing and playing the piano. Her home was adorned with a delightful collection of animal statues, each telling its own story of her adventurous spirit and appreciation for beauty.

Maxine was a devoted wife to her husband, Gary Ricards, whom she married 57 years ago. Their partnership was a testament to enduring love and mutual support. She is survived by Gary, who stood by her side with unwavering devotion, as well as her brother Louis Stackler and his wife Susan, along with countless friends whose lives she touched deeply.

Preceded in death by her beloved parents, Louis and Maragret Stackler, and her dear son, Andres Felipe Ricards, Maxine's legacy is one of resilience, love, and benevolence. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew her, and her spirit will continue to shine brightly through the lives she impacted.

A funeral mass will be on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 11:00 AM.  Maxine will be laid to rest at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City following the funeral mass.

May we all carry forward her zest for life and her undying compassion for others.

The family lovingly requests donations be made in Maxine’s name to the Fayette County Animal Shelter honoring her passionate cause.
