Mark Warner Newman Sr.

May 13, 1959 – November 12, 2025

Surrounded by his family and friends, Mark Warner Newman, 66, went to his Heavenly Home on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

Born May 13, 1959, in Sumter, he was the son of Marion Dewey and Evelyn Warner Newman. Mark was plant foreman at various locations as well as worked in maintenance for Sumter School District. Mark loved playing guitar, singing and was a talented song writer. Mark spent many hours studying his Bible and was most interested in Books of the Bible relating to the “End Times”.

Survivors include his children, Shannon N. Gragg of Maryville, Tennessee, Linda Nesbitt of Lake City, Becky (Aaron) Feldman, and Warner (Alyssa) Newman all of Sumter; seven grandchildren, Memphis and Cora Gragg, Jacob and Joshua Feldman, Austin (Rowan) Floyd, Taylor Shapley, Addilyn Nesbitt, and two great-grandchildren, Jay and Johnny Floyd; one brother, Whit (Janet) Newman and one sister, Karen Newman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Newman Griffin.

A celebration of Life will be held at Zoar Church, 1315 Zoar Church Road on Friday, November 14 at 2 pm. The service will be conducted by Reverend Allen Johnson. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 pm.

The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Karen Newman, 1350 MiKayla Lane, Sumter.
