Mohinder Singh Obituary

In Loving Memory of Mohinder Singh

April 20, 1952 – November 12, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mohinder Singh, a devoted husband,

community leader, and lifelong public servant whose generosity and kindness touched countless

lives.

Born on April 20, 1952, into a hardworking farming family in Punjab, Mohinder Singh grew up

with strong values rooted in humility, service, and dedication. These values followed him

throughout his life and shaped the remarkable man he became.

During his college years at Khalsa College, Jalandhar, he earned recognition as a renowned

kabaddi player, known and feared by opponents for his strength, skill, and fearless spirit. His

leadership and determination on the kabaddi field foreshadowed his future path in public

service.

Mohinder Singh was deeply involved in local politics and committed to uplifting his community.

He served as a General Secretary of the Congress Party in Jalandhar, a Block Samithi Member,

and a Panchayat Member, holding each position with integrity and unwavering dedication. He

was respected for his fairness, compassion, and ability to support people from every walk of life

whether rich or poor, young or old. Always placing others before himself, he became a beloved

figure in his local area, known as someone people could rely on in times of need.

In the early 1970s, Mohinder moved to England, where he worked hard to build a brighter future

for his family while maintaining strong ties to his home in Punjab. In 1976, he returned to India

and resumed his farming life, reconnecting with the land and community he loved deeply.

Throughout his life, he supported thousands of individuals through selfless service, guidance,

and quiet acts of generosity.

In 2018, he moved to the United States, where he spent his final years surrounded by his loving

family and a few close friends. Even in a new country, his commitment to service never faded.

He continued helping those around him, including supporting elderly community members by

ensuring they had basic necessities and comfortable places to sit and enjoy time at local parks.

His helpful nature and open heart made him the person everyone turned to no matter the

problem, he always found a way to help.

Mohinder Singh leaves behind his beloved wife, Paramjit Kaur (“Pammi”), who was his lifelong

companion, source of strength, and greatest blessing. His memory will forever remain alive in

the hearts of his family, friends, and the countless individuals whose lives he touched through

his kindness and unwavering service.

He will be truly missed by all, but his legacy of compassion, humility, and selfless dedication will

continue to inspire generations to come.

May his noble soul rest in eternal peace.
