Richard “Rich” Kropp, 76, of Geneseo, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Mercy One Genesis – Illini, Silvis, IL.  Cremation rites will be accorded, and a private graveside service for the family will be held at North Cemetery, Geneseo.  Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel will be assisting with the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Richard Kropp Memorial Fund, which will be distributed amongst his favorite local charities.

Rich was born on August 5, 1949, the son of Lawrence “Whitey” and Lois (Cain) Kropp, in Estes Park, CO.  He married Sue Skonberg, they later divorced.  He later married Gladys Ackerson Stanfield.  Rich was employed as a carpenter with his uncle at Kropp & Jolly Construction.  He later opened his own business, Rich Kropp Builders.  He then worked for several other construction companies until his retirement.  His hobbies included shooting picks, baseball, bowling, hunting, and fishing.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving partner, Gladys Kropp of Geneseo; daughters, Jami Kropp of Des Moines, IA, and Ronni Kropp of Geneseo; son, Kevin (Heidi) Stanfield of Madison, TN; grandchildren, Blake, Devon, Chase, Chessa, Charlie, Zach, Nathan, and Sydney; sister, Sharon Peterson of Milan, IL; and brother, Randy (Carol) Kropp of Imperial, MO.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Lois Kropp; son, Damien Kropp; and brother, Ronnie Kropp.
